You’re going to change in 2024, but will you grow?
This week we look forward to 2024 with some drawing prompts, reflective questions and thoughts on themes.
Hello again, and goodbye 2023!
It’s been a really crazy year for me and while any day can be the start of a new year, it helps when most of the world marks the same day.
So let’s get into this edition and some cool things I found this week

Want a sketching challenge for January? These prompts might help.
P.S. Don’t forget the Sketch 30 challenge.
What will 2024 hold for you?
You’re going to change next year.
What you do, experience and how you react will shape you as a person. While we can’t control everything, letting circumstances dictate those changes is a recipe for disaster. The better alternative is to intentionally grow.
Setting goals or a theme is a great way to be more intentional.
But there’s a common trap.
You probably want to achieve many things next year.
live healthier
Spend more time with family
Learn a new skill or language
And on and on the list goes.
All of them are noble aims, and I’m sure you can achieve any of them. But I doubt you can achieve all of them all at once.
Bill Gates once said
“Most people overestimate what they can achieve in a year, and underestimate what they will do in ten years.”
We need to bear that in mind when it comes to our goals. By trying to rush changes, we can achieve less by diluting our energy in multiple areas.
If you focus on one goal, you can make more progress in less time.
You’ll still make progress in other areas along the way and be able to move on to a new focus too.
While resolutions and goals can be restrictive (and even destined to fail), setting a theme, vision or focus can help shape our energy towards positive outcomes.
In fact, I’ll even help you with your yearly theme.
I’ll make you a yearly theme or goal wallpaper
If you have a theme or goal for 2024, let me know.
I’ll create a minimal wallpaper for you based on that theme.
But first, you might like to check out if I’ve already made it on mastodon or twitter or you can download the set and get any more I add.
See you in 2024
See you next week and next year.
