Sketchy Ideas #32 - write to be inspired, informal structures, an icon challenge
Hi, and welcome back to sketchy ideas. I'm Chris and every week I share some visual note taking and thinking resources to help you become more PENsive 🥁. If you'd like to get your own copy, you can subscribe at the end of the email.
Create to become inspired
I loved this little visual from Hannah Wilson (no relation).
The concept applies equally to drawing as it does to writing. We often think we need to have ideas to get started, but actually starting brings the ideas. Letting your pen go for a walk on the page can help draw out ideas from deep inside you.
Informal company structures
Working out the informal structure of my previous workplace was extremely helpful. I suddenly understood why certain decisions did or didn't happen. And whom I should pay extra attention to! I wish I'd had this sketchnote to help work it out!
In addition to the useful information, I love that
This is an analog sketchnote.
the way Marianne used a colourful loop to separate her headings.
Of course she used underlining too but this gives you another simple option to provide a different type of heading.
A secret video challenge!
This week, I tested out a quick and easy way to do some live stream videos so I can start sharing more visual thinking and creativity tips and exercises.
Unfortunately, the video and audio quality weren't as high as I'd hoped but I've already worked out how to improve them for next time. In the mean time you can enjoy this little challenge.
See you on a livestream soon?
I hope to see you in one of my live stream soon, and perhaps even in a free workshop I am going to take part in soon (more details to follow!)
In the meantime, I'd love to know what you thought of this edition.
